Thank you so much for sharing this Colin, and I'm so sorry for your loss. Stephanie and I lost three of our four parents all within a couple of years (her father passed when she was young, a whole other trauma to discuss another day), the last of this most fabulous three, my father, passed just before covid (something I'm extremely grateful for tbh, as I don't believe any of them would have coped well through that - for very different reasons). I've found a lot of that period hard to talk about (again for wildly different reasons), but the way you write about your experience so warmly and fondly, yet so groundedly (not a word, but you know what I mean), really resonates. Thanks for giving some of the confusing guttural sounds in my chest some clarity and thanks for being a decent human being:) (and yeah, the Facebook thing, thanks for further convincing me that my life remains better for not really interacting with it)! Take care my friend.

My condolences, Colin. I truly believe that you need to take the time you feel you need for both yourself and your family. Us supporters of the writer version of yourself will all be here and eager to read whatever you write when you do. All the best, Gaz
